Write a speaker bio that will attract attendees!

Event speakers contribute to the draw of an event, especially at virtual events where mingling and networking are secondary. Including an impactful speaker bio into the event description, marketing emails, and/or social media posts will capture the attention and pique the interest of eventgoers. The goal is to connect the speaker to the audience.
Here are a few tips for crafting a fantastic speaker bio:
1. The speaker should always use third person when writing their bio
2. Start with the basics
a. Name with job title
b. Education & experience
c. Connection to CBMC / Christ Ambassadorship
3. Keep it brief
a. Include enough details to capture interest but leave readers wanting more
b. Keep it between 100 and 200 words; you’ll be golden
c. The bio should offer a glimpse of the speaker’s background and expertise
d. Provide a link to their website or portfolio in case people want to learn more
4. Highlight accomplishments, professional awards, or accolades
a. Frame to reflect the speaker as a subject mater expert
b. Highlight achievements that relate most closely to the event’s theme/topic
c. Pair them with interesting biographical tidbits that set the speaker apart
5. Share a unique perspective
a. Insert personality and/or perspective (maybe a fun fact)
b. Keep it professional and clear but give insight into who the speaker is
6. Cater to the event audience
a. Know the audience (those reading the speaker bio)
b. Adjust the bio on what might intrigue the audience
c. If the speaker has a personal story or anecdote that’s relevant to what you’re discussing, allude to it in the bio to pique interest and build anticipation
7. Include a high-quality image (JPG or PNG - minimum of 300x300 pixels & max. of 1200x800 pixels
