Why Discipleship Matters (7 Minutes)
Discipleship is the process of helping an individual grow in Christ in the context of a relationship, leading that individual to disciple another.
Discipleship is a lifelong process of spiritual growth. It shows individuals progressing from being unconvinced, through evangelism (cultivating, sowing, and harvesting), to becoming a believer and then maturing through stages of disciplemaking—from spiritual infancy to adulthood—ultimately becoming a disciplemaker who helps others grow.
2 Timothy 2:2 ~ "The things which you have heard from me... entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."
Key Scriptures:
* Mark 1:16
* Matthew 11:29
* 1 Corinthians 11:1
* Matthew 28:19–20
Points to consider:
* Jesus commanded it.
* Spiritual growth doesn't happen automatically.
* Life-on-life relationships transform people.
* Multiplication is God's strategy.
* Discipleship is God's plan.
